TESTIMONIALS

Dear Mr. Powless,

Thank you very much for the excellent material you presented to our church regarding Active Threat training. It was necessary, informative, well presented, and hopeful.  It was hopeful because it helps common people (even those unarmed) know how to survive and even stop an active threat if necessary.

I highly recommend it for our whole congregation as well as anyone who goes to church, school, college, the library, the grocery store, the fitness center, the post office, the mall, or any other public place.  I have invited many friends to attend the next training session available.

Thanks again - and keep it up!

I attended active shooter training a couple years ago through the hospital that I worked at previously.  I thought Don was much more thorough and informative than my previous training.  Even though I had already been trained before, I learned several new things.  He was great!

“I have attended a lot of training classes of all types during my career, and I have seen some active threat training examples, the training that Don conducted in Albia, Iowa was by far the best training class I have ever attended! He drew the audience in with his dramatizations, and his utilization of audience participation really demonstrated what he was teaching. I especially liked the “live” scenario at the end of the class that demonstrated the techniques that he taught as they were utilized in a full speed “hands on” scenario. I think everybody should have this training”.

The Active Shooter Training we received from Don was extremely helpful for this very scary time we live in now where active shooter incidents happen often.  He gave a great presentation that was very informative.  The best part was how interactive the class was, we were able to learn and then practice the different techniques for his “run-hide-fight” based training.  It was very empowering to know and learn ways to change your mindset from “I am a victim” to “I will survive.”  This training will not only be helpful for me in the work environment, but in any scenario where I might find myself in a dangerous situation.  I will take this education with me and pass it on to family and friends.  I would recommend his training to everyone!

"I was an infantryman in the US Army for 20 years but Don’s active shooter training taught my wife and I things I had never thought of to survive an attack. Don’s training is the best I’ve ever attended. Don is a dynamic speaker and involves the audience during the class so they know how the techniques work."

Excellent program empowering people not to be a victim.  You will learn how to protect yourself and work as a team for survival in case of mass shooting event.   I will always remember if I do nothing, I am 100% dead but if try something I might have a 50% survival.  I plan to share his techniques and experience with family and friends.  I would highly recommend this training.

Training was great!  I especially liked that it wasn’t just for one scenario, it was options for different situations.  It was nice that we had to actually act it out to know that it can be done, and hopefully feel more empowered if we ever have to put it into action.  Don was an excellent presenter.  I would recommend any business, school, or other entity with public interaction to have this training.  It’s an eye opener for work and your everyday life.  I have already shard tips with my family in case they are ever in a situation themselves.

I am a child care provider in Knoxville, Iowa. I took this class to better understand how to protect myself and the children in my care. I got so much out of this class. Don took the time after the training to talk to me and some other providers. I highly recommend this training.

I had spoken to Don prior to attending one of his training sessions, and you think you are prepared but hearing about it and seeing it are different. Mr. Powless genuinely thought through the questions and concerns that are brought to mind with old/current training. He used his prior knowledge from his lifetime and applied it to a pliable program that fits to almost any situation. I truly believe, while additions and modifications can be made in the future to accommodate change, Don Powless has created a training program that works in the best interest of the people at risk.

I really liked all the information.  This will help me get mentally prepared in case this ever would happen in our clinic.  I like the he was realistic and honest on what could possibly happen.

I thought Don did beyond an excellent job at this training, it not only was “lifelike”, but it will be something that I will forever remember.  Playing the short video brought me to tears even though it was just role play…it made everything surreal.  I was able to get more out of his class than I did in my self-defense class last year.  Well worth my time:)

I really enjoyed the training, it was very informative, interesting, and even fun.  It completely changed my thought process if an attacker were to come into our facility.  Thank you!

I have attended Don’s active threat training program as he instructed our Trinity United Methodist Church Youth Group, and again as he instructed a community training session. There was so much information presented, and it was in a manner that you can learn it and retain it. I highly recommend this program to anyone from the age of 5 to 105. It does not matter what you do for a career, you can implement it anywhere at and any time.

The Active Shooter training presented by Don was very well presented and the involvement of staff in completing the practice scenarios was very beneficial and really brought it home that these techniques will work.  I would most certainly recommend this training.
